Alone (Banishment Series Book #1)

IT'S OUT! I uploaded Alone to Smashwords. It's available for purchase from the site, but it's still pending approval to other stores, like Barnes and Nobel and what not.

But, I did it. Alone is out there for you to enjoy and the best part is, it's only 0.99 cents! Who wouldn't pay that for a book? I love buying books at 0.99 cuz I usually find great authors. So come on, head over to Smashwords and pick up a copy. You know you wanna....

Coming Soon!

Guess What! I have a perfect cover done by an amazing designer, and I have a blurb. But because I'm not good with technology, I'll be posting all of that tomorrow, the fourth of December. Needless to say, that means that by the end of the week, I'll be uploading my manuscript to Smashwords and hopefully all will go well and it'll be out within the next few weeks.

I am really sorry that it's taken so long. I feel horrible. Not that excuses matter, but my life has been incredibly hectic, and again, I suck with technology. So everything is ready to go, and it'll just take a quick look over by my editor and tech person, the presto! Alone will be uploaded to Smashwords and hopefully available on all devices which have the e-reading capability.

I'm really excited and I hope all of you out there in internet land will be too. Editing on the next book in the series, Healing, is going well. It's a bit slower because it's the initial edits, but it's going well.

So, that's all from me tonight. I've got to get back to my Christmas present making so I'll be able to do it without too much four year old help.

Goodnight from California!

Computers, grrr...

So, I've been working really hard on Alone (that's the name of the book I'm releasing really soon, I hope). The formatting is going a bit better, but when I went to save after some more edits, it saved in the wrong format and I lost a lot of what I'd done. I'm not a computer person, thus the issues. However, we do have a book cover, which I'll be putting on here with a blurb about the book in the next week.

So, again, I'm really sorry about how long things are taking. It's horrible and I feel totally awful about it. Please, don't hate me, I promise it'll come out soon.

Formatting sucks

So, I have been formatting for forever. I am not a computer person and get confused very easily. But I also don't have the extra money to spend on paying someone to format my book for Smashwords right now, so I've been trying to do it myself. Let's just say it isn't going well.

I finally finished, I think, tonight. The last thing to do is the cover of the book. Problem there is, I have no cover.

The cover shoots have not been going well and I will not publish something that I don't feel captures what I'm trying say.

I should be doing another shoot sometime this week and will hopefully get the shot I see in my head. It really isn't that hard of a shot, we just can't seem to get it right. Maybe I'm asking to much, but it's my book, I want it right.

Once I have the shot, my photo editor will have the picture back to me very quickly and I'll be able to finish the formatting completely.

Then it's just uploading it to Smashwords and praying all goes well.

I am sorry that it's taken so long. I really hate that I didn't get it out sooner and it's now the fifth of November. I wanted it out before Halloween, but like I said, computers and I do not get along.

So, I hope that you out there in reader/web land are still interested. I'll post in the next few days a blurb about the book, which is still eluding me.

Other then that, I hope all is well with you out there in internet land.

Goodnight from California!

Swollowed by Darkness

So, I live in California, and yesterday California decided to attack the electricity. All over California were major power outages. The area I live in was, from what I've seen, the worst effected. There were over 5,000 people effected by the power outage.

But the best part? The best part was the fact that the city I live in was oddly effected. The north western half of it was completely out. No lights, no signal lights even. It was crazy. Especially when my family and I decided to drive around town to see what was going on. It was hilarious to drive through the darkened streets, then suddenly come the the alive parts. The parts that everyone seemed to be visiting because no once could cook, so they went to all the working fast food chains and restaurants.

It was great. Except my daughter was a bit confused. She kept asking when the lights would come back on, or if they would just turn back on when the sun came up in the morning. She seemed to think that the sun had effected the lights, even though the power went out before the sun went down.

It took them nearly five hours to get our power back on. I had a lot of fun with it, my family... not so much. But whatever. It was a great excuse to light all my yummy smelling candles and read by candle light. I felt like I was transported in time. Until my husband got hungry and we went for pizza in the living part of town.

So, that was how my week's gone thus far. Just an update on life stuff. Book stuff is going pretty good. We're hoping to stay on track.

Goodnight to everyone!

Captains Log #587

So, we've hit a hiccup on the book front. I have test readers reading through it right now, but because of the hiccup, we may not meet my initial release goal. It's looking to be on track for late October, early November, but I'm not entirely sure any more. I am so sorry to keep screwing things up. I hope you'll all forgive me and I honestly hope to get the book out by the end of October.

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Wow, it's been a while

Hello out there to my readers, if there are still any of you left. I'm still here! I have been so overwhelmed with my editing, cover shoots (which aren't going well), and personal things that I haven't had any time to write to you.

No fear, my ramblings are back and I hope to tell you all book stuff soon.

But why wait? First things first, my editor, photographer, and I, did a photo shoot for the cover a week ago and we had a blast. The only thing, we didn't get the shot we wanted. So, we're setting up a time to do another shoot and hopefully get the right shot. The model was amazing, and my photographer took amazing shots, they just weren't the ones we were looking for. So blah on that.

Next news? The editing is finished and we're sending the first copies out to the test readers. When they're done, we'll (my editor and I) do a final go through and get the books onto Smashwords. Which means formatting them correctly and all that jazz. So, it's still a while, but we're just that much closer.

I'm pushing for a late October, early November release date, but that's still up in the air. I will, I promise, let you all know when the release date is, and I'll probably have a few little extra details in store as well.

So, that is all for now. I hope all of you out there in internetland are doing well. Goodnight from California.

The War Wages On

Alrighty, First of all, I know I haven't written in quite some time. Editing is taking it's toll on me I think. Any way, the book is coming along great and we're still on schedule.

Now to the Important stuff.

I read a post on Facebook by a friend earlier today about a show called Whale Wars, which I also watch. I have decided to join in the attempt to bring attention to what the Sea Shepherd's risk their lives for every day. Whales, and other sea life, but on the show, we see the Whales.

Most of you are probably thinking, 'Whales, what do we care?' Well, then you're dumb, and I don't care if I offend people. It is my honest belief. We need to be more concerned with the other life on this planet. I'm sure it doesn't occur to people that each animal, even a freaking mosquito, plays a role in the way the world works. Now I agree with most people that the eradication of mosquitoes would be awesome, but then I wonder what other plague we'd have to deal with, and I'm less inclined to kill them all off.

I like whales though, so I am even less inclined to sit by and watch as they are slaughtered for no reason, while the governments of this world sit by and do nothing about it. That is why I am passionately writing this blog, and begging for people to go to the web site that will be listed below.

Sea Shepherd is an organization of VOLUNTEERS that go out for like, four months at a time, and combat the Japanese whaling boats. They risk their lives for months at a time, away from family, friends, and land, to save these majestic animals. They have risked their health, their safety, and even have gone to such lengths that they were held prisoners, just to save the whales in the arctic oceans.

The men and women who go out on these campaigns fight to stop the unnecessary slaughter of thousands of whales each year. And each year, they do more and more to stop these disgusting things from happening. This year was a turning point. Whaling has been going on forever, all over the world, and because of it the whales are at only 10% of the numbers they used to have. That means 90% of the earths population of whales is gone.

In the last seven years, the Sea Shepherd's have managed to damn near stop the whaling industry in Japan. The Japanese used to have around 45 'Mother Ships' which are the factory ships where the whale meat is cut up for sale. Now they are down to one, and this year the Sea Shepherd's managed to close it down early enough that the Japanese decided not to finish out the season. Their quota is 1,000 (yeah, a freaking thousand) whales, they ended up with less the 200. It's still too much, seeing as how they say they're whaling for 'research'. No one needs that many for research, come on, don't try to lie to us.

The Whaling ship known as the Nisshin Maru, was sent home before they could cut up any more whales. Sadly, it was a good thing for the Japanese people because on their way back to Japan, the tsunami hit and the Nisshin Maru was loaded up and sent around to help people. Thankfully for the Japanese people, they were there to lend aid, instead of burning fuel to kill whales unnecessarily.

(I don't want any one to think I'm heartless to the Japanese people in their time of need, I am not. I have nothing against the Japanese people, there way of life, or their culture. I have a problem with whaling for no reason, and I have an even bigger problem with lying)

Due to the efforts of the Bob Barker, the Steve Irwin, and the stealth Gojira, we may be at an end of whaling in the arctic. However, that is not all the Sea Shepherd's do. They are now fighting unnecessary, and ILLEGAL, killing of Seals off the coast of Namibia. The government there says the killing of seals is illegal, and they happen to be a huge tourist attraction. However there is a man who is paying off officials and killing the gentle creatures any way. And the really fucked up thing? They kill them on the beach, then move sand over the blood soaked area, and open the beach the very next day to the tourists who are out there watching the seals, that will just end up being slaughtered any way. Yeah, messed up.

The Sea Shepherd's are also mobilizing to stop the annual killing of a shit ton (yes, that is an actual amount in my world) of pilot whales in the Faroe Islands. This is a disgusting practice as well. They lure all the whales in, scare them up onto the shores, and then kill them in a bloody and sadistic manner. It's wrong, and horrible.

These animals, all of them, are part of our ecosystem, what happens to them directly effects us. Do we want to kill ourselves off because we hunted down animals for no reason? Really? Not to mention that whales live in families, have languages, and other then living in the water and having a different body shape, they are just like humans. Only, they don't go out and kill other fish and shit for the hell of it. So maybe, they're a bit better off then we are. You don't see humpbacks and pilot whales fighting over turf, or religious beliefs, or any other things just to separate themselves further.

Whales, and other sea life, are all important. They all have a role on this earth, and the senseless killing of these intelligent, and loving animals, is not okay. I don't care who you are, or what you believe, it is not okay to kill something for no reason.

There are natives all over the world that kill whales for food. However, the difference between them and the bastards who kill in the hundreds or thousands; these natives eat what they kill. They only kill what they NEED and that's it. They live how they always have lived, and the still hold true to the belief that killing for sport, or for only one part of an animal, is wrong. Why can't we all see it that way?

So, in conclusion of a rant that probably doesn't make sense because I'm so very pissed off about the things happening to creatures who don't have a way of stopping it, I ask that you help out the Sea Shepherd's in the quest to rid the world of unnecessary cruelness. Whatever you can do, will help greatly. A donation, joining the cause and spreading the word, anything, will be appreciated. Remember, these people go out and VOLUNTEER. They aren't paid, they don't get anything out of this, other then knowing what they're doing is right. And you can too.

Please, check out the link below, and think about the kind of world you want your children to grow up in. Do you want to answer the questions about why whales died off? Do you want to look a child in the eyes and say that you could have done something, but didn't? No, I would think not.

Here's the link:

Please, do what's right. Help these people make a difference.

Well, hope you're all doing good out there in internet land! See ya next time :)

Captains Log #47

Hey there everyone, I'm so sorry I haven't written in like, forever. I feel like a total lame and horrible blogger. I never meant to be away for so long but the book work has gotten super busy and time consuming and... yeah. So, I am back, and will hopefully do better with my blogging more often.

On to something interesting. Or what I found interesting. I was watching the Daily Show the other day and they showed a news segment about how expensive going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would be. First off, really? That's what we do with out spare time these days? Try to figure out costs to a fictional school? Not that I'm hating on Hogwarts or Harry Potter or the most wonderful and amazingly genius author J.K. Rowling. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, but even I haven't tried to figure out the costs to attend Hogwarts, as the cost was never a part of the books.

Another thing that gets me, they say it would cost more then going to Harvard. Harvard. Yes, I am saying that twice. Where do they... how do they...?

Here is what the report says:

Tuition $42,028
Textbooks $516
3 Robes $488
Wand $162
Gloves $123
Cloak $80
Pointy Hat $32

For a second here, let's suspend reality and pretend Hogwarts is real, okay? Now, let's discuss Tuition. There is no freaking tuition ever mentioned in Harry Potter. Do you people even read the novels? Have you even seen the movies? How could tuition be that damn much and yet the Weasley's have sent seven children, yeah, seven, to Hogwarts for all seven years. Minus the twins who skipped out a year early. But still, that's a lot of money each year, for a lot of children. Not to mention that Tom Riddle, commonly known as Voldemort, was a freaking orphan with absolutely no money, and they went to get him. I'm pretty sure Harvard doesn't send people out to orphanages just cause the kids are smart there. Nope. Not happening.

On to Textbooks. Where in the hell do you come up with that number? As for that, where do you come up with any of the numbers first of all. Then the robes, the wand, the gloves, the cloak, and lastly, the pointy hat which is not even a factor. Did you see the one movie and think, well, we should put that in? Honestly, the numbers are ridiculous, and so is my irritation, I know. But I can't help it, they're just making a mockery of something I love, and it drives me batty.

Why even do the study? Why take something fun and magical, and put a stupid price and real world twist on it? That just takes away from the fun and the magic of a school like that, in a world like that. You're dumb. And I honestly don't care if I irritate you by calling you dumb. You cannot take something fun and magical and turn it into a research project with real world monetary values.

Plus, what monetary system are you using? Because to me it looked like American dollar signs and American money, when, Hogwarts is somewhere in Europe, not America. I don't know much, or anything, about European currency, but I do know that Muggle money, whether American or European, is not the same as Wizard money. So whatever amounts you came up with cannot possible be accurate unless you went to J.K. Rowling and asked her to convert it. And if you did, then yay for you, and if not, which I suspect, then again I ask, how the hell did you figure any of this out?

I know I'm rambling, and I may seem a bit... crazy? about this subject, but I just hate it when people take good, fun, fictional things and try to turn them into something for the real world. It's not real world, that's why people like it. So, to those that want to dissect fun, imaginary worlds, from one person to another, please don't. You only ruin the fun that way.

Well, goodnight. I'm sorry for my ramble, and I'm sorry for not being here, and I'm really sorry if people were wanting an update on the book front. The best I can give you is we're furiously editing and I hope to have a few copies out to my beta readers in the next month or so. Thanks to all you of you out there for reading and checking back. I hope to have a quality product out to you all soon. You're all amazing! Goodnight from California.

Captains Log #23

Hello All!

Well, it's been a while since I've written, but things have been crazy around here. It's a super bad earwig season where I live, seems everyone is having the little critters everywhere, and I've been combating them. I am glad to say we have not seen one in quite some time, there is hope we will not see one again.

I've been spending a lot of time with my family, helping out with day care and what not, and have been away from the internet. I miss my readers and feel that I have been neglecting you. I have not, I know, but I want you all to know I care.

We're still on schedule for the book to be released this fall. My editor is working hard and I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end. As long as someone reads the book and enjoys it, I've done what I set out to do.

Also, I have come to the conclusion that my child is allergic to summer. Last year, we found out that she is allergic to cranberries. Hives, itching, all that crap. Looking into that, we found that if you're allergic to cranberries, you can also be allergic to blueberries. She didn't show any signs of that last year, so we haven't been worried. Yesterday she had hives again, today the same. I'm not sure it's the juice she's drinking, which has blueberry juice, but it could be anything. I've come to the conclusion though, it's just summer. She did this last summer, she's doing it this summer. But who really knows?

Any who... How is everyone out there? Hope you're all doing good.

I wanna give a shout out to Sneha Sunny. Thanks for the comment on the book, I really hope you enjoyed it.

Well everyone, it is that time again. I must be going. Goodnight or day or morning to you all!

The Book

Okay people, so I said I'd have a sample chapter out to you by the end of June. It is now the end of June. Do I have a sample for you? Of course. But is it a full chapter? I am sorry, no.

See, I am technologically slow, and when it comes to putting things up on my blog, I have a techie for that. Is my techie around today? Of course not.

I know, I know. I suck. But the good news is... I do have something for you. It may not be a full chapter, but I think it's interesting. All I can say is I'm sorry and hopefully people will understand.

Other then being lame, I'm doing pretty good with the book stuff. We weren't able to do the photo shoot for the cover like I was expecting, so that will take a bit longer. The editing is going well, I'm still hoping for a fall release date. No, I will not give a month out because then I will never reach that goal. Time is not on my side, no it's not.

Any who... without further adieu...

(I have been told by my adviser to say that the following is a work of fiction and is owned by J.D. Cole in it's entirety and any usage of the following could result in a lawsuit or something along those lines. Basically, the story and characters written about here are owned by me and I would really appreciate no one taking them and trying to make their own thing up off of what I have written here. now that that's out of the way, enjoy :))

Everyone says; When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I say: When life gives you lemons, make grape juice and sit back watching while they try and figure out how the hell you did it.
I have decided to make grape juice. However, my decision has come after many, many failed attempts at making lemonade. Personally, I hate lemonade. So it's no wonder that try as I might, I have never made it correctly, and my life has now spun out of control. Or almost out of control. Honestly, I have no clue who's in control of much any more.
I grew up thinking the world was grand. A great place, full of great people, doing great things. Okay, I'm wasn’t that naïve, but I also didn't give two licks about the real world. Not when I had my hands full of the world I was currently part of.

World Changing Events

I bet I can guess what you're all thinking. You probably all think you know whats coming next. Yes, I am going to talk about some of the most life and world changing events going on today.

I managed to kill two bugs at once. Yep. I killed them dead with my feet and I was proud. I'm sorry to those that like bugs, or think bugs do important things. These bugs do not. They are in my home uninvited and there are no plants for them to snack on. All they do is scare my child. So, they are now in the buggy cemetery, hopefully the do not come back to haunt me as evil zombie like creatures.

Other world changing events: I have an odd bump on my leg. When I was a kid, teen, how old was I?... Any way, I bumped my leg on a boat and it has always had a bump. Either my shin has lost weight, or the bump is bigger. Or maybe I'm just noticing it more. Either way, it is life changing because I am more aware of it now.

I honestly don't have much to say tonight. Just rambling thoughts that aren't even interesting. But, I do feel the need to 'speak' with my followers, and the people who stumble upon my sight. To my followers, I thank you. To those who stumble upon my sight, I thank you and hope you're enjoying my crazy.

On to book stuff, that sample chapter is almost ready. I have three days to reach my June release date for a sample, and am hoping I make that. I am sorry to those who are getting fed up with out knowing much. I'm also working on a blurb about the book so there's something for people to get interested in as well as a sample chapter.

Stick with me, I will get it all out to you eventually!

Goodnight dear readers, it is time for bed.

Captains Log #398

Well, things are moving along with the book. My editor is getting quite a bit done and we should have a sample chapter up by the end of the month.! YAY!

Also, we'll be doing a photo shoot this weekend for the book cover, super excited. As soon as that's finished, and we have the book cover put together perfectly, I'll put it up to get you interested.

I can't wait, hope you're all as excited as I am! :)

I'm Sorry Summer

I had posted a blog a while ago about summer abandoning us. I am sorry summer. I should have thought more about it before saying I missed you. I am retracting my previous statement. Summer, please go away again. It is too hot and my house feels like a sauna. Did I anger you and you're now taking out your wrath on us?

Moving on. I am sorry people who read, or now do not read, my blog. My computer has been sick lately, and I have been unable to use it. Therefore, there has been no blog or book or anything going on here. Needless to say, I am now behind in what I had planned. I am still trying to release a sneak peak for my first book by the end of the month, but as it is the 20th, we'll see how that goes.

Well, I must be going, I have lost my glasses and am having a hard time seeing right now. My headache is indicating that my blindness is now effecting me and I should get off the computer and find my glasses. So, farewell dear readers, or reader by now, I will hopefully be back soon!

Captains Log #347

Writing and editing furiously. I haven't been sleeping, or eating, or doing much of anything other then those two things. I desperately want to get this preview chapter out to you asap, but it's taking a bit more time then I'd originally thought. I am sorry, it seems I'll never get anything out to any one, but I am working hard.

Thanks to those that keep reading and checking back here, I appreciate you.

Well, back to the writing and editing.

Good night or day to you all!

Really MTV?

So, I watched the MTV awards tonight for one thing, the Harry Potter preview. I am a die hard Harry Potter fan and am anxiously awaiting the last (sad face) Harry Potter movie.

However, I am very upset with MTV and the awards. We all know, out of the award shows out there, the MTV movie awards has lost its way. They used to be entertaining, they used to have awesome movies and actors, they used to push the envelope. Now, they push the audience. Away.

This year they really messed up with the lack of showing some of the more awesome awards. Like, Biggest Bad Ass Star, which went to Chloë Grace Moretz for Kick Ass, and Best Scared as Shit Performance, which went to Ellen Page – Inception, Best Breakout Star, which went to Chloë Grace Moretz – Kick-Ass.

The award they could have done with out... Best Jaw Dropping Moment. Really? Justin Bieber was more jaw dropping then James Franco cutting his freaking arm off? Or Natalie Portman peeling her skin off in Black Swan? Or a freaking cafe being blown apart by Leonardo DiCaprio? Or even Steve-O flying in a port-a potty? Come on people. I guess keeping it the WTF Award hit too close to home, knowing the audience would probably ask, WTF? when Justin Beiber won the award instead of the more interesting moments.

It just irritates me that MTV has gotten rid of their more interesting award titles, and then they give us a show that doesn't show us all of their awards. Then again, MTV isn't exactly Music Television any more, is it? Maybe they're just getting tired and they've given up. I dunno. I don't usually throw a fit about things like this, but tonight it just irritated me. A lot.

Sorry for my crazy post about things that seem less then important right now when our world has so much more going on, but this is my blog, and these are my thoughts, so (sticky tongue face at you.) I'm sorry. It's late and I'm crazy. Night all!

Long Night

Had another one of those long nights last night, but I am now finished with first round editing stuff. My editor is going over things this weekend and we should have a sample chapter up soon. Yay! I am sorry it's taken so long, and I bet many of you think that there is no book coming, but I promise, there is.

Well, that is all as my brain is fuzz and there are quiet a few things I should be doing around my house today.

So good day to you all! :)

Captians Log #334

Where are you summer? Have you decided to abandon us? I cannot say that I mind the odd weather. It's cooler then usual, and the colors are amazing. The bright green of the trees as the sun hits. The way they stand out against the storm clouds. Beautiful to look at, really.

But I have a bone to pick with you summer. My child would like to ride her bike and it is a bit difficult to do so when you start raining randomly. I would ride a bike in the rain no problem, however I am not a child who could get sick. Sick children are no fun.

So I ask one more time dear summer, where are you?

Summer, or the Lack There Of

As I think I have mentioned before, I live in California. I happen to live in a particularly hot part of California. Summers here are brutal, and winters are decently cold. We get the best of Californian weather, and the worst.

This year however, is pretty much lame. By Memorial Day weekend, it's usually pretty freaking hot. I'm not a fan of hot, but I am a fan of days were I can somewhat judge the weather. Today started out pretty sunny and normal, at least for a spring type day, and ended cold and windy.

Where the hell is summer? I'm used to summer being in full swing by now. June is usually hot, and June is pretty close. I'm not so sure June will be hot. I'm fine with that, I'm just a bit confused.

Oh well. Life goes on.

Sorry I haven't been here much, life has taken a course of it's own lately and it seems I am no longer at the wheel. Whoever is, sure does keep me busy.

The book is coming along well and, I know I keep saying this, but it should be ready for a preview chapter soon. When that happens, I would love feedback from any one who reads it.

Other then that... I'm pretty much out of things to ramble about. My brain has been off lately. I'm in the edit mode and the creative mode is all over the place, making it really hard to keep to a single subject for too long.

So, goodnight dear readers. Have an awesome night, or day, or whatever time it is for you.

Catching Up

For the last few days, I have been unable to access my blog from the usual sign in place. I tried a few tricks today, and was obviously successful. I am sorry to those who read my blog, I didn't mean to desert you.

So, what I've been up to lately. I've been working furiously on my book, hoping to get it ready for reading soon. Also, I've done some editing for a colleague and that went over well. I was surprised by how much I was able to help her.

Tornado warnings keep popping up in the North State and I wonder if we'll actually have a real tornado. The news keeps saying stuff about them, but as far as I'm aware, and I may be wrong, none have actually touched down. It's still interesting though.

I often find myself wondering why people who live in tornado alley don't worry about them like I would. I guess it's just how you grow up. Lot's of people worry about earthquakes and freak out about them. I find them to be rather annoying, however have not been scared by them. So, again, it may have to do with where and how you grow up.

American Idol also wrapped up this week. Can't say I was shocked by who won, can't say I really care any more. It seems to me that the contestants start to lose who they are on that show. I remember the beginning, when both of the finalists started. Both were good and I thought Lauren would make it to the end(yay go me). But as the show wound on, both started to lose what it was that made them amazing in their auditions. Scotty did great when he sang on the finale, especially with Tim McGraw, and I sincerely hope they write good songs for him. It seems that the male winners have a harder time with that show then the female ones. I dunno. That's just my observation. Hopefully he'll get good songs and do well, we can only be supportive of those that go for their dreams.

Moving on... So You Think You Can Dance is starting, tonight! I'm so excited. Dance has always been a passion of mine. When I was a kid I asked my parents if I could take dance lessons. They said no because they weren't sure if it was something I'd keep with long enough to be worth how much it cost. I understood, but never lost my love of dance. In high school, I took a dance class and even started teaching. Then I started taking private lessons. I even kept going into college, but life got ahead of me and dance fell away. But, that doesn't stop me from watching this show and thinking about how awesome it would be to be a part of it.

...

Golly gee, I think I've run out of things to ramble on about. My brain has fizzled out as I realized how close to 8pm it is, and that means... So You Think You Can Dance! Whoot! Whoot!

Until next time my friends, I leave you with this: "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today." -James Dean

Remember to dream. Dreaming is all we have when the lights go off and we're all alone. When the world is crashing down around you, you're dreams will get you through. Dream, no matter how small, or how grand, just dream.

Goodnight. Sweet Dreams :)

Longest Day Ever

So, it seems as though there is no zombie apocalypse or end of the world today. Unless in the next three hours or so the zombies break out and take over, killing us all.

Because of all this zombie stuff, I've had what feels like the longest day ever. Do you ever have those days when your imagination runs away with you? I do. All the time in fact. Last night, my imagination went crazy and took on a mind of its own.

My house is old, very old. It creaks and groans all night long. Usually I have no problem with this, but last night everything sounded like zombies coming in. It was so hilarious to me that the first thought I had was zombies, that I stayed up most of the night thinking about a story line that would include my issue.

Then my kid was up and down all night. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much. Then I had a long day of my kid being a butt, and other issues that you won't care about.

Any who, that is pretty much all I have to say today. I'm tired and can't think about anything other then zombies. I may have to watch a zombie movie to get a 'fix' or something. Hmm, zombie movies... Any suggestions?

Zombies

So, supposedly the CDC released a "statement" about zombies today. It was interesting to read. It doesn't say anything about zombies being a problem, but that if there were a zombie apocalypse, same rules would apply. They'd do the usual CDC thing and quarantine it, and try to keep the exposure down.

Also, it's always good to have a go bag with essentials in it. Whether it be for a zombie apocalypse, or a general natural disaster. I bet though, in case of zombies, it's always good to have a shotgun strapped to you. You never know when you may need it.

Any way, all this zombie stuff got me excited because I figure zombies will eventually take over. Okay, maybe not really, but it'll be funny if it does happen. At least we know what to do by now, right?

Also, (my last couple paragraphs have all started with 'A', hehe) I have a friend who's writing a zombie book. And one of my favorite authors is coming out with a sequel to her first zombie book and I'm super excited. Yay for Amanda Hocking. Hopefully she won't get upset with my mentioning her, but she rocks and any one who reads this should check out her blog and read her books. They're a-ma-zing.

Well dear readers, that is all for now. Nothing new on the book front other then, I hate editing. But oh well, I'm fairly sure no one likes editing. Except maybe editors. And even then I'm sure it irritates them sometimes.

Goodnight to all!

Tandoori Chicken

Today I decided to make a special dinner. I made awesome Tandoori Chicken. For those that don't know, it's an Indian dish.

Okay, so it wasn't actually Tandoori Chicken as I don't happen to have a Tandoori Oven. But, it was my attempt and I have to say, it was pretty damn good. To go with the chicken was creamed spinach and jasmine rice.

My kid even like it, and there is not a single think she'll eat besides sandwiches and fruit.

Plus, as good as that was, I managed to get just a bit closer to finishing the book so we can finish the editing. Editing and I are not friends. I'm a horrible speller, and sometimes even spell check doesn't know what to do about me.

That aside, I'm chugging along and it's doing better.

Well, goodnight to all. I am sleepy and my bed is calling my name. Until next time!

Hail

I live in California. We all know what people think of California. Sun, surf, tan people... so not true. Today, due to the odd weather effecting the world, we had a freak hail storm. It. Was. Awesome!

I was eating dinner with my family when the rain started sounding a bit more... solid. We opened the door and surprise surprise, hail. It was pretty normal hail for these parts, until the gates to the hail workshop opened and it all started pouring out.

Hail fell in thick chunks, like parts of ice cubes, and tinged off of everything. My car even got a little damage.

But the best part was the hail that entered my house. We have a swamp cooler, and hail decided to work it's way through, and fall in my hallway as well. Needless to say, my child thought we were gonna die and because of that, I had a growth attached to me for quite a while.

Well lovely readers, that is all tonight. My growth is having a hard day, and I can barely see my computer screen to write. Where are my glasses? Oh well, I'll find them eventually, I think.

Goodnight!

Captains Log # 2

Red lights irritate me. Have you ever noticed that when you have somewhere to go, and really no time to spare, you hit every freaking red light between the beginning and end of your journey? I understand that I am not the only person out there, and other people would like their turn for a green light. I just hate being stuck behind every darn red light there is.

Then, have you ever noticed when you don't particularly want to get across town quickly, and you'd rather have red lights hinder you so it's an excuse, you hit all the green lights? Thank you Karma. You rock.(sarcasm)

Enough on red lights and green lights. On to the book.

My first book, hopefully available in the fall, should be ready for a preview chapter soon. I would love to tell you more about it, but as a rule of thumb, only give them a little so they keep wanting more.

That is all for now loyal readers and followers and those of you that just happen across my blog. I will write again tomorrow, or later tonight if I feel the urge to write. Good day to all!

What's on my Mind

S2FZGPUWRHSZ

Of course, my book should be what's on my mind.  And it is.  It usually takes up a majority of my conscious thought.  However, at the moment my thoughts are on candy, tea, and singing competitions.  Random?  Yes.

First on the cue for today: Candy
I know I went into my thoughts on candy yesterday, but the thought is still on my mind.  Maybe because my kid keeps asking for candy for no real reason.  Other then, 'candy is yummy mom'.  So here I am, thinking about candy again.  And now, you are too.  Hehe.

Second: Tea
I recently started drinking tea as a better for me option.  I love sodas, but they are not good for me.  So I have started drinking more tea to get my caffeine fix.  It's great.  I feel tons better and am a lot happier with my tea choice.  So, yay tea.

Third: Singing Competitons
I know, everyone has their own views on the singing competitions out there.  One thing I like about the two major ones on TV right now, they both showcase amazing singers.  Granted, some are better then others, but it's nice to see great singing out there.  One has produced rather amazing singers who did not win the competition, and some of them have not even made it to the dreaded voting round.
My main issue, I'm not sure if it's an issue or a grievance or what, but one thing I would like to suggest to any one planning on having a singing competition on TV, maybe make the voting round about who you want to vote off instead of on.  Just an idea.  It's a lot easier for me to tell you one person I'd rather not keep going, then voting for multiple people in a two hour period.  Come on, sometimes there's only one person who irritates me and all the rest are awesome.  That's a lot of time on the phone.  Again, just a suggestion.

Well, that seems to be about all right now.  So, good day to you people who have viewed, or will view this.  Hope all is well out there in your world :)

After Much Thinking

So, I've come to the conclusion that my earlier post didn't tell any one much about who I am and what this site is supposed to be about.  Honestly, this site is supposed to be about the books I'm attempting to write.  I love writing, it's something that calms me and makes me happy.

Well here goes, first book to hit the 'shelves' will be a book about the Fae.  For those who don't know what that is, their fairies.  Not the Tinker Bell kind that are only a couple inches tall, but the race known in Celtic Mythology as the Tuatha De Danaan.  I don't pretend to be an expert on them, but I find that sort of myth interesting and thought, or actually dreamed, about it a lot.

The books will be available as soon as I manage to edit them.  Editing and I are not friends.  I'm probably the worst speller in the world because I don't tend to think about how the word is spelled, I just write.  So my friend is doing the editing because she catches those mistakes, and I love her for it.

For the time being, I'm just trying to get my site up and going.  I want to get myself out there and get a buzz going so someone else can eventually read my work and fall in love with the story and characters.  Or tell me they're a bunch of crap and I'm a horrible writer.  Either way, I don't care.  I love the stories I have in my head, and one day hope to have available for others to read.

I'm also technologically slow and don't navigate sites well.  But eventually I hope to have links to my other sites so if people find my ramblings, and books, interesting, they can follow me.

Any who... that seems about it for now on the me subject.  I'm not a fan of me so let's find something more interesting.  Candy.  I'm not a big fan of candy, but lots of people love it and I've found that if you promise someone a yummy candy, they'll almost do anything for you.  Odd, yes?  Goodnight all those out there in internet land :)

Captains Log #128

I know what you're thinking, you're really behind and need to catch up on blogs.  But fear not!  This is actually my first blog, but #128 kept calling out to me, saying to use that number.  So here I am, writing my first blog, but calling it #128.

Moving on!

Today we'll discuss one of my favorite things.  Peanut.  For those of you who have no clue who Peanut is, here is a picture of the amazing... what is he?

Now, I bet you're wondering why I want to talk about Peanut instead of something more suited to a blog about who I am and my books and what not.  But, Peanut was the first thing to come to mind when I started writing.  My friend is working on her blog at the moment, and something she said made me think of Peanut.

I think Peanut is amazing.  Everyone out there should find Jeff Dunham and watch him.  The puppets he uses are all hilarious, but this little guy is my favorite for so many reasons.

Reason #1  He's purple.  'Nough said.

Reason #2  He has one shoe.  I'm constantly only finding one shoe.

Reason #3  He reminds me of myself, and a very close friend of mine.

Reason #4  I have a phobia of puppets.  I mean one of those, run, scream, and hide kind of phobias.  Clowns are the only other thing that have the ability to make me walk out of my way to avoid them.  But thanks to Jeff Dunham and Peanut, I am no longer afraid of... well... his puppets.  I still don't like other puppets.

The comedic timing put in to a vintriloquest act is not easy, and rarely done well.  But the timing between Peanut and Jeff is so funny you get lost and actually think the puppet is talking.

So, on that note, thank you Jeff Dunham for coming up with Peanut.  He is amazing.
